Did You Know?









 Mary Jane Patterson.....


Is considered to be the first African-American woman to receive a B.A. degree in 1862. She is just one of the many pioneers in Education for blacks in the U.S.A. Born in Raleigh, NC in 1840 she was brought to Oberlin, OH as a young child. From there her interest in education brought her to Oberlin College where she graduated in 1862 as an Educator.

There are days when it seems like everything is trying to test your patience and your willpower.  Just smile!  Nothing can ease the soul than to smile. When times are tough and even when they are great a smile is very quick to make! What hasn't worked itself out today will be a great challenge to conquer tomorrow. When you've tried, you've conquered and you've succeeded.  If there's nothing else that you can think to do, just smile.

No Body Shaming Campaign

Good Morning! I'm currently watching My Big Fat Fab Life. This is the episode where Whitney gathers a group of friends to tell their story for the No Body Shaming Campaign. It's an amazing episode. It is in this episode that you get to hear the stories of those who have misjudged based on their appearance. It's so important to remember that whenever you cross paths with anyone, they have a story to tell. Whether that story fits their physical description, acknowledge the fact that you can't decide what someone else's story will be. I support the No Body Shaming Campaign. We are real. We are human. This means that even with the imperfections we are still intelligent. Take the time to understand someone's story if they are willing to tell it. Don't be so quick to associate a physical appearance with a misconstrued life story. The whispers, the pointing, the stares, they all mean something.
