And this!

It's Been a While!

I can't believe that it's been so long that I've written on my blog. Well, great news! I'm still at my job and I even earned a promotion. I couldn't be happier with the climb that my career is taking. I can't complain. My eyes are on the prize and I'm aiming to apply for promotions next year. I'm on a steady track to pay off my student loans sometime next year as well. God is good. Everything happens for a reason. There is no season that goes unfruitful. You have to believe that what is meant to be will be. Think big, be great and always be bold! :-)          "Always Smile" even when you think you don't want to.

Who are you?

Who are you? What do you want to be be? These are the kind of questions that make you free. You can be as big as you want to be or as small as you want to be. You can be quiet, you can be loud. You can be a doctor, a lawyer, an activist, a film Director, a nurturer. The possibilities of what you can be or who you can be are endless. That thing that you do or feel that makes you happy, that smiles because of an unspeakable joy, that, that is what you should do. No matter what, always be happy. Never let anybody take away your joy. Life is sweet. Enjoy every minute of it.

Be Determined

Progress

How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these. George Washington Carver

Be Cheerful

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition. Martha Washington

Triumph

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. Nelson Mandela

To Gain Something.....

“to love is to risk, not being loved in return. to hope is to risk pain. to try is to risk failure. but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in my life is to risk nothing.”  ~Bob Marley~ You can't hope to gain something by doing nothing.

Love Story

Love Story- “You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect - you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there.”  ~Bob Marley~

Be Who You Are

If I take care of my character, my reputation will take care of me. Dwight L. Moody You don't need speak on who you are. Be who you are. Everything you do and say is a reflection of you. Be your own statement. Actions speak louder than words.

Straighten Your Back

Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Change

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. Barack Obama

I'm back!!!! :-)

I'm back!!!!!! I've been busy, with steady employment! I have a job that I absolutely love. I've got my foot in the door! 1 more goal completed but I'm already eyeing the prize for my next goal. Promotion! Promotion! Promotion! Always aim to be better, to be faster, to be stronger, and more intelligent than before. The choices we make lead us down the paths that we will take. Nobody will ever believe in you more than yourself. We are who we decide in our minds to be. I am successful. I am strong. I am intelligent. I am a lover of a life. I am a believer of God. I am.

Live Life!

If there is one thing that I've learned about life thus far, it's that to live a healthy life you need to have a healthy mind which requires healthy thoughts. Enjoy life.

Happy Birthday to Me!

To ME!  Yesterday I celebrated my birthday and I had an amazing time with both family and friends. I love that life is full of surprises, laughter, joy and love among many things. My goal is to always help someone because someone has in one way or another always helped me. I'm grateful and glad that one more day and one more year I can thank the Lord. Thank you to everyone that has spoken kind words to me on my birthday. Peace, Love, Happiness

Did You Know?

Mary Jane Patterson..... Is considered to be the first African-American woman to receive a B.A. degree in 1862. She is just one of the many pioneers in Education for blacks in the U.S.A. Born in Raleigh, NC in 1840 she was brought to Oberlin, OH as a young child. From there her interest in education brought her to Oberlin College where she graduated in 1862 as an Educator.

Dr. Benjamin Carson

Strength is..... Dr. Benjamin Solomon "Ben" Carson Sr.  One of THE top Neurosurgeons in the world So skilled at his craft, Dr. Benjamin Carson is the first man to separated conjoined Siamese twins even while dealing with racial discrimination from the very parents of the twins. Coming from a very complex and troubled childhood Dr. Benjamin Carson had a mother that would encourage him everyday to read more and more. Who would've known that at the age of 33 Dr. Benjamin Carson would earn his position as the Director of Pediatric NeuroSurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  One day as a young girl I read the Time Magazine. It was a hard cover book collection that my father brought home. I read this book from cover to cover. When I read the story of Dr. Benjamin Carson I then went on to read his auto biography. He is one of the reasons why I was determined to go to college. After reading his story I knew that if he could do it, then I definitely could do it

It's Black History Month!!!!!!

FEBRUARY 2013 Never forget what African Americans in the U.S.A went through. Always remember what they have done so you can have the opportunities to achieve whatever it is that you set your mind to.

Do You Know Who Is On Your Side?

"In Prosperity Our Friends Know Us. In Adversity We Know Our friends."  John Churton Collins If there is ever a life lesson that we learn only after we've been through trial and tribulations, knowing who is for you and knowing who is against you is one of the greatest lessons of all.  Be careful of those that you surround yourself with. Some people may lift you up and others may be bringing you down. When you're blessed with friends that will pick you up when you fall know the difference. Everyone will be your friend when you're doing great. The ones that are there for you when you need them, they are the ones that matter.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! IT'S 2013!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  IT'S A NEW DAY, A NEW DAWN!  BLESSINGS, BLESSINGS, BLESSINGS!

Words of Wisdom

Words of Wisdom:  There's a difference between fighting for something and forcing it to work.  When an opportunity for change presents itself, don't turn it away. Instead reflect on what you have and determine if you've reached your full potential. In life, love, and career there comes a time when you make that decision that either your burdens are worth carrying or it's time to bear something else. Always choose what is fulfilling for your soul.
